Sea Purslane!
Another coastal treat for all to enjoy! A delicious and nutritious British sea vegetable that can be found on our coastline. It’s abundant down here in the south, though can be be found as far north as Scotland if the weather is warm enough that year.
Sea purslane is also known to contain omega-3 fatty acids, surprisingly more than any other leafy vegetable plant. It is an excellent source of vitamin A and rich source of vitamins C, B complex, as well as minerals such as magnesium, iron, calcium, manganese and potassium.
There are tons of recipe ideas online, it’s a delicious salty green so let your imagination run wild and see what is created.
Roll up your sleeves and roll up your trouser legs, get stuck in the mud and bag yourself some coastal high grade!
