Cutleaf Geranium aka Cut-Leafed Cranesbill.
An interesting looking plant with it’s deeply cut leaves and tiny little flowers. It has been used by herbalists to help a range of ailments. The whole plant, but especially the roots, is rich in tannin. It is antiseptic, highly astringent, styptic and tonic.
The whole plant is edible but lacks in flavour.
An infusion of the whole plant, or of the roots alone, is used in the treatment of diarrhoea, dysentery, cholera, gastro-enteritis, internal bleeding, excessive menstruation and lots more. Externally, it is used in the treatment of wounds and a number of different skin problems.
You will find it growing in all sorts of grassland.
