This sea vegetable is rich in minerals and is loaded with vitamins A, B1, B15, C, and D as well as having high levels of Iodine, iron, calcium, magnesium, silica, zinc and manganese. It is a plant known to strengthen the immune system, very popular among sailors who carried it with them to fight diseases during long voyages.
In conclusion if you would like a super food that tastes amazing, get down to the coast at low tide, take off your boots, get stuck in the mud and harvest yourself some of nature’s magic!
It’s a great one to pickle or have raw. It can also be lightly steamed or dipped in boiling water for a minute. Enjoy!!
