Glorious Sea Beet!
If you are a fan of spinach you are going to love sea beet! It’s even better than spinach in my humble opinion.
You will find it growing all year round all over our coastlines here in the UK.
The whole plant is edible and the roots can be used much like sweet potatoes.
The leaves are glossy, succulent and dark green. The shapes can vary from diamond to oval and be twisted or smooth.
Highly recommend trying this one out. Add some leaves to a pan with oil and butter and wilt it down for a couple on minutes. 😋
Scientific name: Beta vulgaris maritim
Happy foraging!!
