Artists Bracket

The Artists Bracket.
A very abundant and interesting specimen. This bracket fungus gets it’s name for being a superb medium for artists drawing. You can use something sharp like a stick to scratch the fresh white pore surface to reveal dark brown tissue under the pores. This will result in visible lines and shading that become permanent once the fungus is dried.

It also contains a whole variety of medicinal quality’s. It’s known for being anti-tumor, antibacterial, anti-fibrotic.

This fungus is much to tough to eat raw. The best way to enjoy the benefits that it has to offer is to slice it up and make it into tea. You can also dry it, then make into a powder and use in soups and stews to add a mushroom flavour and an array of health benefits to your meal.
