Evening Primrose!
A glorious plant that stands proud and attracts the attention of all. Evening primrose has been used medicinally for hundreds of years. You may well be familiar with its modern application of medicine in the form of capsules or tablets, as most health food stores will stock it.

Native to America, this plant has a close history with the Native Americans that used the whole plant as medicine often in the form of tea.

It’s been used to help a wide variety of conditions. Know to help with skin problems, pain relief, depression and irritability and the list goes on. Lots of study’s have been done and further research is still ongoing.

It likes well drained soil and sand. My local beach is teeming with them! 😻

Evening primrose contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also rich in antioxidants, which can help to reduce inflammation and protect your cells from damage.

🌸 This wild plant has been used to treat a range of ailments, from PMS and menopause symptoms to eczema and acne. It may also help to improve heart health, lower cholesterol, and reduce blood pressure.

🍃 To enjoy the benefits of evening primrose, you can take it as a supplement in the form of capsules, or use the oil to moisturize your skin. You can also add the leaves to your salads for a boost of nutrients.

🌿 When foraging for evening primrose, be sure to identify the plant correctly and check that it’s safe to consume. You can find evening primrose in many areas, including meadows, roadsides, and along riverbanks.
